Emerson Purchasing Manager in BUSSERO, Italy

As our new Purchasing manager , you will be responsible for purchasing equipment, goods and services as well as managing vendors. You will also execute reliable and cost-effective supply chain strategies to deliver the materials, equipment, supplies and service to the Bussero site . #LI-Hybrid

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team, working closely with the Global Supply Chain team to develop and implement commodity strategies for Italy. This role involves active collaboration with Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Finance departments. Additionally, the successful candidate will lead the buyer team co-located in Bussero and oversee one resource located in Cluj, Romania. You will report directly to the Planning and Purchasing Manager, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of our supply chain operations.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Oversee and supervise the purchasing department

  • Maintain key relationships with suppliers for raw materials, supplies, and capital equipment

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies in coordination with the Global Supply Chain team.

  • Collaborate with vendors to maintain and improve services

  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors/suppliers in areas not directly managed by the Supply Chain team, including negotiation

  • Work closely with the commodity manager to assess, manage, and mitigate risks; perform cost and scenario analysis; and identify cost-saving opportunities

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Education in (Mechanical) Engineering / Supply Chain or similar

  • Proven experience in purchasing or manufacturing within a technical environment with ability to read and understand technical drawings

  • Familiarity with machining parts and materials, including plastic, metal, and rubber

  • Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems for inventory and procurement management

  • Good understanding of measurements such as average monthly consumption, impact on stock levels and similar

  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and prices with suppliers

  • Verbal and written communication skills proficient in Italian & English

  • Open to travel (20%)

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Previous experience working in a matrix organization, collaborating with different types of suppliers, both indirect and direct

  • Experience working in a multinational environment with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly
