Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for championing and leading a world-class food safety program that meets all federal, state and local compliance requirements and positively impacts the business.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Manage compliance with federal, state and local rules and regulations.

  • Responsible to develop processes, specifications, and preventative controls for ongoing quality assurance.

  • Direct productassessment, compliance, or operational risks and develop risk management strategies.

  • Oversee the filing of compliance reports with regulatory agencies and ensure all reports are filed appropriately.

  • Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best Food Safety and Quality practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company legal compliance.

  • Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.

  • Develop and monitor department budget as required.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required) in Business Administration or Food Service or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Ten years in food manufacturing, retail, distribution, or related area. Experience in Ready to Eat (RTE) or USDA cook facility preferred.

  • Fiveyears' experiencein a supervisory / management role.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate, collaborate, and delegate efficiently with associates.

  • Excellent organization, prioritization, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to multi-task and have good follow through to meet deadlines.

  • Must have good leadership and training skills; ability to work with all levels of management and line associates.

  • Must be able to correctly complete/review various daily quality/HACCP/BRC/USDA/FDA required paperwork.

  • Knowledge of food production, quality assurance, and food safety procedures required.

  • Knowledge of product traceability/recall preferred.

  • Knowledge of BRC and SQF GFSI systems preferred.

  • Understanding of USDA regulations and OSHA requirements.

  • Proficient with computers and MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to travel up to 25% Physical Requirements:
