Position Summary
Reporting to the Signal Foreman, the Electrical Laborer is responsible for successfully completing day-to-day tasks by meeting or exceeding corporate and project goals for safety, quality, profitability and schedule, resulting in extreme customer satisfaction.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Maintain tools and equipment in ready-for-service condition.
Perform all periodic inspection and tests as per railway and PNR standards.
Perform special duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Work cooperatively with other maintainers on technical issues and troubleshooting.
Perform general labour tasks as necessary including operating equipment.
Comply with railway and PNR safe work practices and signal work procedures.
Other Duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
1-3 years of electrical experience
Experience working in the construction industry
Diploma in the electrical field an asset
Signals & Communications field experience an asset
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Works outdoors at construction sites.
Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds.
Exposed to all weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather.
Exposed to loud noise.
Exposed to live track/trains and high voltage.
Ability to work Days, Afternoons and Nights
