WSP USA Senior Pipeline Engineer in Calgary, Alberta

What you can expect to do here:

  • You will be planning, scheduling, and estimating design engineering effort on projects from the conception of project design to issue of all drawings and specifications for construction

  • You will assist in the development of proposals

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of technical data including calculations, code interpretation for pipe, valves, fittings, coatings, cathodic protection, crossings and bending

  • Prepare Material requisitions and complete technical evaluations for pipeline mechanical equipment

  • Prepares construction work packages, and respond to contractor RFIs

  • Interpret project specification and scope to all engineering disciplines

  • Review and approve all designs and vendor drawings to ensure conformity with project specifications, project scope, company practices and sound engineering practices

  • Support cost, schedule, and reporting of project

  • Mentor other engineers within the mechanical and piping engineering

  • Required to provide professional designation on their professional work product

  • Prepare, review, and/or oversee changes to (or creation of) WSP standard technical documents, specifications, standards, programs and procedures pertaining to pipelines

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Shall have a thorough knowledge of CSA Z662 Canadian Pipeline code and working knowledge of B31.4 and B31.8 American Pipeline codes

  • Shall have a good understanding of pipeline construction practises

  • Shall be capable of being involved with design and construction practises for pipelines up to 42 NPS

  • Site experience with construction and / or operations is an asset

  • Shall have a thorough knowledge of pipeline wall thickness calculations and materials requirements

  • University graduate in engineering (preferably mechanical or civil) or applied science with a minimum of 15 years working pipeline experience

  • Designation as a P.Eng. recognized by APEGA;

  • Previous experience working within an EPC and/or EPCM environment
