Job Description
CURRICULUM LEAD: PRODUCTION ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING, Mechanical Engineering-Center for Advanced Production Technologies (APT) (http://apt.mit.edu/) , to serve as an additive manufacturing (AM) subject matter expert and assist with the instruction of MIT-led workforce development courses and workshops. Will lead the creation of instructional content. MIT’s upcoming courses have a specific focus on application development, scaling AM from prototype to production uses, and on the impact of AM on organizational job functions (e.g., procurement).
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, materials science, or related field; at least five years of hands-on industry experience using AM technologies; proficiency in the fundamentals of industrial AM primary and secondary processes, including L-PBF, MJF/HSS, DED, Hybrid Mfg, FFF/FDM, SLA/DLP, and metrology; experience designing and deploying parts for one or several of the above-noted processes in real manufacturing environments; strong competency and familiarity with Autodesk’s Fusion360 CAD software and Generative Design extension; strong competency and familiarity with Materialise MAGICS or comparable build preparation software; knowledge of and experience with DfMA and GD&T, application engineering, and mechanical characterization of 3D printed parts and materials; strong project management and communication skills; professional or personal interest in education; and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of project work, including the ability to execute and abide by a non-disclosure agreement with MIT.
