Senior Director Portfolio Marketing, Multiple Sclerosis
This Commercial Leadership position is of critical importance to our continued growth as a MS business unit. This role will direct franchise marketing and operational activities that encompass multiple brands and enhance the perception and awareness of Sanofi Genzyme and our products. The Senior Director Portfolio Marketing will lead marketing activities focused on the promotion of Sanofi Genzyme, MS One To One, Sponsorships, the MS Ambassadors program, franchise digital/social media strategy development, US congress planning, patient database strategy and development, TLL customer facing program creation, and possible execution of some advisory boards. The Senior Director will lead marketing operations including, but not limited to, speaker program operations, sponsorships, advisory board planning across brands, PRB organization and metrics, POA planning, brand plan timelines and organization, and congress planning. He / She will work collaboratively with transparency and compliance teams and be expected to bring forward areas where incremental improvements can be realized across the MS Business Unit.
The Senior Director will be expected to collaborate and communicate effectively in a matrix organization with significant interactions with Brand Marketing, Patient and Provider Services, Medical, TLL Leadership, BI&A, Corporate and BU Communications, Human Resources, Finance, Market Access and Senior US Leadership. He/She will report to the Head of Marketing, US Multiple Sclerosis. The position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The Senior Director US Portfolio Marketing will be responsible for:
Management, leadership and development of the MS Portfolio Marketing team
Oversight of the Portfolio Marketing strategy
Developing and executing a forward thinking, integrated portfolio strategic marketing plan, supporting the MS brand objectives while working in a collaborative environment with brand teams, sales, TLL, project management, consumer marketing, global marketing, market research, patient advocacy, market access and corporate communications
Supporting the development and implementation of the MS One To One marketing plan and tactics
Directing the commercial sponsorship program and ensuring the marketing coordinator is effectively managing sponsorships and corresponding execution
Directing the marketing coordinator to ensure execution of promotional review board meetings, including the maintenance of accurate files and effective utilization of supporting information systems
Managing the core infrastructure/marketing operations such as, material warehousing, digital external partners and CRM database partners
Responsible for collaborating with the brand teams to develop and execute the franchise digital/social marketing strategy
Directing the Sanofi Genzyme Patient Ambassadors Program implementation and expansion
Leading POA meeting planning
Liaising with US corporate communications and global marketing to align US messaging and communications strategy across all functional areas
Developing US MS-specific strategies and tactics focused on key events such as US medical meetings, local and regional display opportunities; working closely with meeting planning, sales, brand teams and global where applicable
Identifying and leveraging synergies between brands
Ensuring all key portfolio marketing programs are internally vetted and aligned
Managing cross-functional efforts with the field-based Marketing Advisory Panel
Development of annual and forecasted operating budgets and monthly management of expenses against forecasted plans
Professionally and ethically work within industry and corporate compliance guidelines
Profile and experience
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
10+ years of professional experience
7 years marketing and/or communications experience
Multiple Sclerosis experience preferred
Strong leadership and team building skills
Ability to lead people, timelines and work in a matrix organization in compliant and professional manner
Experience in managing budgets
Solid presentation, writing, power point and organizational skills
Experience managing external vendors
Has a working knowledge of the regulatory environment
Ability to travel up to 50% but, should average 25% - 50%
