Pride Bodies Ltd., a Wabtec Company in Cambridge, Ontario, offers custom design and truck-body manufacturing and upfitting of utility, service, construction, railway and other custom truck bodies. Our environmentally-friendly truck bodies are researched, designed and customized to our customers’ satisfaction.

Who will you be working with?

As a member of the team at Pride Bodies Ltd., you will be working daily in the Assembly Department with the Assembly Supervisor and a group of approximately 14 other Assemblers.

What do we want to know about you?

  • High School/GED diploma required;

  • Able to maintain regular and reliable attendance;

  • Able to work safely at all times, checking for hazards before starting any task;

  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude;

  • Stamina and strength to perform manual labour;

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of automotive mobile hydraulic/electrical systems and the ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics;

  • Possess one (1) year of experience with the installation of hydraulic/electric components onto automotive service vehicles;

  • Possess thorough knowledge of mobile hydraulic and electrical practices;

  • Experience installing hoses and wiring;

  • Be familiar with the various fasteners used for installation of equipment onto automotive service vehicles;

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Understand instructions and carry them out efficiently within the given deadline;

  • Apply safe automotive/manufacturing work practices and become familiar with equipment (saw, drill press, iron worker, mechanic tools)

  • Read and understand shop drawings to enable independent work;

  • Run hydraulic/electrical lines throughout automotive service vehicle including pumps and PTO’s;

  • Build hydraulic/electrical subassembly components;

  • Install hydraulic/electrical components;

  • Troubleshoot hydraulic/electrical problems quickly and effectively;

  • Take all work order packages from start to finish with minimal assistance in a timely manner.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.

Safety glasses, steel-toed safety shoes and hearing protection must be worn for the entirety of the shift.
