As a Plumbing Trade Instructor, you will work as part of a dedicated maintenance team where collaboration, and communication are integral.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Plumbing Trade Instructor for the Department of Corrections, you will provide instruction in all areas of plumbing to inmates. You will be providing on-the-job training and shop instruction for the vocational training of inmates and instruction in the areas of general plumbing maintenance, preventative plumbing maintenance, and installation of new plumbing fixtures and equipment. You will plan and assign work to inmates receiving plumbing training and review and inspect work in progress and upon completion.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (40-hour work week) Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with paid lunch period. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Five years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of pipes, fittings, and fixtures used in heating, water, and drainage systems; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the plumbing trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the plumbing trade.
