Job Summary: The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Nurse is to perform all duties in collaboration with your collaborating physician in the consultation, treatment, management, control diagnostic evaluation and care of patients admitted to Aultman Hospital under the care of Aultman Inpatient Medicine or those patients in which Aultman Inpatient Medicine have been made consulting physicians, and work cooperatively with the health care team in maintaining the standards of care within the framework of the Ohio Nurse's Association.
Primary Work Setting: Aultman Main; call coverage for Aultman Orrville
Position Accountabilities
Maintains the standards of Hospitalist's Service and adheres to the Hospitalists Medical Care expectations.
Collaborates with the hospitalist physician to admit, discharge, and care for patients during their stay as well as provide consultation services as requested.
Abide by Aultman Hospital Medical Staff bylaws, Human Resources Employee Handbook, and policies and procedures of AIM.
Provides a safe environment for patients.
Follows policies, standards, protocols, and procedures of hospital and the Division of Nursing Service.
Assess needs of patient for discharge planning.
Provides patients / families education and support.
Assists physicians with tests and procedures.
Participates in economical utilization of supplies.
Reports and accurately records pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (ie : physicians, unit director, division director, charge nurse).
Participates in the orientation of new personnel.
Demonstrates ability to competently provide individualized care to patients
Communicates with colleagues in a professional manner

Supports strategic organizational goals
Abides by the Aultman Code of Conduct at all times
Maintain current ACLS certification and respond per AIM policy to medical emergencies while in the facility.
Complete all Medical Records as required by Medical Staff bylaws, Rules and Regulations of Hospital and per AIM policy.
Comply with established record keeping, billing and coding per AIM policy

Position Qualifications
Minimum Education
Master's Degree in Nursing
A graduate of an advanced practice registered nurse program approved by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
Current licensure as an advanced practice registered nurse by the state of Ohio.
Capable of functioning in the various roles of an advanced practice nurse.
Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations
Knowledge of state, federal, and local health agencies and programs
Pharmacologic knowledge as it relates to advanced nursing practice.
Minimum Experience
Minimum one year in Acute Care setting as an APRN preferred
