Job Description
Responsible for creating formulations of metals, titanium and other alloys
Responsible for updating chemistry controls and managing a statistical database through excel and “Formulate”
Will provide formulation guides (SOPs) and aims for current and future melts
Will manage the flow or raw materials and consumption
Will work with have a direct report of a formulator
Will Maximize scrap and be in charge of reducing costs
Will handle quality checks and standards
Will use excel to make formulations, run charts for chemistries, run macros, track quality standards, and product trends
Will manage the demands of the planning group
Will select when products go through the plant
Will create product schedules and determine when mixes go through the furnace and are cured
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry or mathematics or equivalent degree. A chemical engineering degree is the ideal candidate
• Visual Basic Programming - moderate level- this is important as they have to understand how to program equipment to melt metals.
• At least 5 years of experience in chemistry control
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Must know how to make charts, run macros, Formulate, create formulas, tables)
• Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire
