Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as aRadiological Controls Engineerto join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.
The successful candidate will provide technical support to the WIPP Radiological Controls Department in the areas of radiological work controls, waste characterization and shipment, dosimetry, release of radioactive material, instrumentation, count room and program assessment. The candidate will ensure that radiological support for WIPP operations are conducted in accordance with the approved procedures implementing ALARA principles and compliance with 10 CFR 835. Responsible for assisting with the implementation and continuous improvement of the WIPP Radiological Control Program. Provides technical health physics support tot he Radiation Protection Program in assigned areas as a subject matter expert.
Exempt Grade Levels (33-36)

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Certified Health Physicist is preferred.
Previous Experience with 10 CFR 835 is a plus.
