Description
As MISO’s Manager Generation & Interchange, you are responsible for managing and coordinating activities of the Generation and Interchange (G&I) Operators and Day Staff. As the business owner for G&I you are responsible for ensuring processes, systems, procedures, training, compliance, reporting requirements, and metrics are met. Additionally, you will collaborate with direct reports, operations managers, and leaders across the company.
You will have the opportunity to help:
Implement process improvements and automation to increase efficiency on the G&I desk and back office
Ensure our controls are accurate and timely, around data relating to Net Scheduled Interchange (NSI), Net Actual Interchange (NAI), Day-Ahead Market, Transmission Settlements, and Market Settlements
Coordinate to assess and address operational issues with generation units, member concerns, and internal tools
Maintain and enhance a training program to support the G&I role as the “Gateway to the Control Room”
Partner with vendors and teams within MISO to ensure continued compliance in a dynamic regulatory environment
Provide support for MISO’s members and market participants
In one year as our Manager Generation & Interchange, you will know you were successful if:
You enhanced the onboarding training program to decrease the amount of time it takes to get from NERC certification to desk certified
You have a collaborative working relationship with the control room managers, while being a voice in moving control room topics forward to resolution
We are looking for talented leaders who must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR 10 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
Specific experience within any of the following: Balancing Authority Operations, Market Operations, Generation and Interchange, or Dispatch
Demonstrated leadership experience and a desire to help develop others in their personal achievements
Previously experience working professional, respectfully and collectively with other leadership to make the right decisions for not only their team but also for the company as a whole
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
