GE Vernova Aero Alliance Shop Operations Supervisor in Carrara, Italy

Job Description Summary

Perform the daily operations of Aero Alliance Avenza Plant Operations to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.

The Supervisor will be the first point of contact of the Operations Team during the shift.

3 shifts work availability required

Job Description

Main Duties:

  • Coordinate and supervise shop operations team, following the directions of the Planning and Manufacturing Engineering Department and Ops Leader

  • Coordinate consistent and effective shift-to-shift transition

  • Manage People presence in term of absence Hrs. within the shift

  • Verify the completeness and the correctness of the documents (cycles, test plan, drawings)

  • Make sure that all team members follow the safety rules (EHS)

  • Organize talks on HSE issues, Quality, and improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate with quality inspections on resolution of Nonconformity

  • Make sure that the tools and equipment used are properly replaced at each workstation

  • Support operators activities with expertise and facilitating technical discussion with UTOF and Engineering Department

  • Support line performance KPIs guarantying line accounting (i.e. DL hours, Inefficiencies, attendance…)”

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering (or Technical High School Diploma with relevant proven experience)

  • A basic knowledge of Mechanics is required

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • fluency in Italian and English

  • Be a solution-oriented problem solver

Desired Characteristics

  • A basic knowledge of Turbomachinery Mechanics would be a plus

  • Previous knowledge/experience of Aero-derivative gas turbine products, especially on LM2500, would be a plus

  • Previous experience dealing with Customers would be a plus

  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization: from shop operators to Executives

  • Strong attention to details
