Position Description

  • This position will be required to work different shifts that may include working weekends.

  • Ensure all operations personnel are working in a safe manner, wearing proper PPE and following procedures. Ultimate goal to keep incident rate at zero.

  • Provide vacation coverage for supervisors and scheduler as required.

  • Assist with putting together new hire training manual. -Train new hires as needed.

  • Be OQ qualified as a proctor/evaluator and assist with the training requirements of operations personnel.

  • Create and implement, follow up, and document on all procedures within Petro Operations.

  • Review procedures and processes with all operations personnel to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

  • Conduct daily safety walks and talks with all operations personnel.

  • Maintain docks and dock personnel. Coordinate dock work with scheduler and engineering. Ensure all dock personnel are using correct PPE at all times and following procedures.

  • Provide training and refresher training for all dock personnel and record. Oversee dock house cleaning, dock cleaning and hose prep.

  • Ensure all dock hoses meet C/G requirements. Have personnel repair, remove and replace as needed.

  • Work with scheduler to maintain pump house and dock schedules. Assist with managing all of operations union vacations.

  • Assist with house cleaning; provide direction to idle employees where to clean, paint, pick up garbage, etc…Provide weekly to do list for supervisors to handout to after hours idle employees.

  • Work on tank product switches with customers and contractors.

  • Work with engineering and operations union personnel with project work.

  • Work with maintenance and operations union personnel with project work.

  • Investigate and report incidents which would entail immediate action interviewing and taking pictures of incident area. Comply with incident reporting procedures.

  • Create MP-2 W/O’S to resolve issues with equipment and hazards. Follow up with W/O's to ensure proper repair.

  • Ensure proper payroll coding and tenant labor forms are accurate and complete.

  • Conduct 1/4ly dumping of retain samples. Maintain clean and safe sample shed.

  • Work off hours as needed.

  • Answer after hour calls and respond to the terminal as needed.

  • Provide weekly summary of work completed and improvements made.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum requirements and any additional preferred education or training:

  • Associates degree or higher or applicable industry experience and education may be used as an equivalent

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum experience, skills, knowledge, certifications, licenses, competencies, working conditions:

  • Proficient with Word and Excel and other proprietary systems.

  • Must be able to work in a high paced environment and be able to work as a team.

  • Willing to take on other duties as needed without assignment.

  • Understand supervisory position and fill in as needed/required.

  • Work additional hours as needed/required.

  • Professional, high energy personality with a positive attitude.

  • Assist with employee development and performance management.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers. -Investigate and report incidents.

  • Ability to take initiative, exhibit self direction, and work with co-workers as a team to accomplish defined goals in a fast paced, challenging environment.

  • Maintain regular dependable attendance and high level of performance.

  • Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to, walking up and down stairs/ladders, negotiating uneven surfaces, and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to wear standard PPE (Hard Hat, Goggles, Rain Gear, Steel Toe Boots), and qualify to wear a Full Face Respirator. -Excellent math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and fractions) are required.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred experience, skills and knowledge Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

  • Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, OQ, RMP, Industrial Hygiene and other industry regulations.

  • Excellent Time Management and Organizational Skills.

  • Experience with handling Hazardous liquid chemicals.

  • Experience in supervising and/or managing in a union environment is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
