THE ROLE : The Regional Flatbed Driver (CDL - A) is responsible for supporting the delivery, installation, and operation of Xylem equipment on Xylem Service Center sites and/or Customer jobsites in an assigned territory. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES : To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Operate a CDL A, Semi Truck w Flatbed trailer regionally

  • Maintain an active DOT Medical Card

  • Construction background and skills

  • Perform routine vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing

  • Safely and effectively operate a company vehicle for extended periods of time throughout cities, job sites, major highways and interstates (including tunnels and bridges) and in all weather conditions

  • Travel: more than 75%

  • Perform all additional assigned duties

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Possess a Class A Drivers License, with good driving record

  • High school or general equivalency degree (GED)

  • Hazmat Certified preferred or willing to obtain

  • Construction background and skills

  • Capable of safely operating diesel powered hydraulic lifting equipment: i.e. forklifts, front end loaders, tow motors, etc.

  • Safely and effectively operate a company vehicle for extended periods of time throughout cities, job sites, major highways and interstates (including tunnels and bridges) and in all weather conditions

  • Valid DOT Medical Card

DAY IN THE LIFE : In this role, the working environment is subject to temperature fluctuations, noise, and fumes within limits of OSHA standards; use of Personal Protective Equipment and breathing apparatus required. The physical demands may include but not limited to standing for long periods of time, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Extended hours (weekends, overtime, on call rotations) and travel as required.

SALARY:  Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as endorsements, construction skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
