Do it Best Corp. Associate Accountant - On-site in Cary, Illinois

The Associate Accountant is responsible for monthly journal entries and account reconciliations. This role will prepare and maintain financial statements, research accounts, and analyze financial records. This role will be based out of Paint Manufacturing in Cary, IL.

Scheduled Days: Monday through Friday Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Annual Salary: $51,900 to $70,000 **based on skills and qualifications

Responsibilities (May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned).

  1. Takes responsibility for month-end closing procedures, that includes but not limited to journal entry preparation.

    1. Writes account/journal entry procedures and updates as needed. 3. Performs mid-level general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel. 4. Supports timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts. 5. Assists in providing schedules and commentary with respect to operating maintenance accounts results and variances, and with the production of working capital, cash-flow reports, as well as applicable commentary. 6. Maintains and update records and reports for profit and loss, taxes, liabilities, and assets. 7. Prepares special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

    Education & Experience

    · Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. · 1-3 years of experience, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or similar industry. · Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). · Knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures. · Experience in audit accounting · Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.) a plus.

    Licenses & Certifications: Certified Public Accounting (CPA), preferred.
