Job Overview & Responsibilities
This role presents an exciting opportunity for a meticulous engineer to lead a
team and oversee the development of Electrical Ground Support Equipment
(EGSE) within the Vulcan Development organization. The successful
candidate will be instrumental in coordinating engineering and design efforts
across various teams, including systems engineering, electrical
engineering, and test tooling development. These efforts encompass
Instrumentation Systems, Command and Control systems, DC Power systems,
Communications systems, and more, crucial for preparing, testing, and
launching Atlas and Vulcan vehicles.
Key Functions:
Efficiently manage scope, schedule, and costs while upholding technical
standards to meet both internal and external customer requirements.
Identify system issues, propose effective solutions, design, and
implement upgrades, and contribute to future system enhancements.
Serve as the designated representative for the Vulcan Development Leader,
ensuring seamless communication and alignment within the team.
Required Education
Bachelor
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an
accredited college or university.
Demonstrated technical leadership experience leveraging teamwork and
development opportunities.
Public speaking and professional briefing experience.
Project/program level schedule and budget development, tracking and
reporting experience.
Experience with Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) design and
deployment.
Project management experience.
Understanding of obsolescence importance and lifecycle replacement concepts.
Understanding of electro-mechanical/fluids interfacing.
Experience with majority voted command architectures.
Experience implementing redundancy in critical circuits.
Personal involvement with implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting
electrical systems / circuits.
Experience reviewing, editing, and providing feedback on complex
engineering drawings, parts lists, test procedures and schematics.
Ability to integrate COTS hardware into system level designs.
Technical knowledge of grounding/bonding principles and practices.
Understanding of the EGSE ground system and ability to explain concepts and
operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing and maintaining complex, high channel count,
redundant command, and control systems.
Demonstrable communication skills (verbal and written; including
presentations).
Candidates are self-motivated with demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and
leadership skills during past work experience.
Solid understanding of problem definition and issue resolution process steps.
Understanding of ULA EGSE at the system and subsystem level.
Experience with redundant command/control circuits.
Experience with Instrumentation (Data Acquisition Systems and transducer
interfacing).
Experience with communications systems (Network, Optical, IRIG,
RS232/485, etc.)
Experienced in ULAs design release and review process.
Summary Salary Range (forULA - Denveronly): $146,879.00 - $229,467.00
Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline
only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications,
as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees
may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
