Description
We are currently seeking a talented individual to work as a transportation
drainage and water resources lead engineer for design in our Denver,
(Centennial), Colorado office. The ideal candidate is energetic,
enthusiastic and has a can-do attitude. This position also offers
opportunities to participate in professional organizations.
Essential duties include:
Manages and participates in the preparation of engineering plans and
specifications for the design of stormwater management facilities including
storm sewer systems, detention facilities, flood control facilities,
channel restoration/rehabilitation, bridge hydraulics, culverts, and
other hydraulic structures and facilities
Manages the preparation of transportation related hydrology and hydraulics
studies, including Master Drainage Studies, Drainage Reports, and Bridge
Hydraulics Reports
Leads the preparation of drainage design calculations and modeling to support
design recommendations
Directs field studies, surveys, and data collection necessary to develop
drainage concepts and construction documents
Assists in the preparation of proposals, scope of services, and contract
cost estimates
Submits documents to federal, state, and local agencies for code
compliance review and obtains permits required
Background requirements include:
Bachelor or Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Must possess 15+ years of relevant experience
Requires a Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license, CFM
certification is a plus
Experience with hydraulics and hydrology modeling software such as HEC-HMS,
HEC-RAS, Hydraulic Toolbox, HY-8, Culvert Master, SMS/SRH2D
Proficiency with Microstation, InRoads Storm and Sanitary/OpenRoads
Prior experience working on projects with Colorado Department of
Transportation (CDOT)
Experience with the CLOMR/LOMR process
Experience with local municipal design methods, plan preparation,
standards and specifications
Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite
including Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point
Must be self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of
project team
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Salary Range: Base Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act actual
compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education,
experience, skillset, and/or location.
