Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in Chandler, Arizona, United States. This role is particularly suited for individuals experienced in the healthcare industry. As an Associate Patient Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the registration process, and adhering to the organization's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, explaining hospital policies, patient financial responsibilities, and Patient Rights and Responsibilities.
• Identify patients appropriately and collect accurate and thorough patient demographic data.
• Obtain insurance information, verify eligibility and benefits, and handle reimbursements.
• Determine and collect patient financial liability.
• Refer patients to the Patient Registration Specialist as needed for assistance with financial counseling and/or clearance.
• Adhere to the organization's policies and procedures for resolution of patient financial liability.
• Ensure a positive patient experience throughout the registration process.
• Handle the registration process for patients in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize skills in Customer Service, Procedures, Policy, Insurance, Benefit Functions, Reimbursements, Liability, Offshore, Patient Demographic, Patient Registration, Registration Process, Financial Counseling, Patient Financial, TRICARE, NIS, Patient rights. Requirements • Proficiency in Customer Service, demonstrating the ability to deal with patients and their families with empathy and understanding
• Familiarity with various Procedures and Policies related to patient care coordination
• Knowledge of Insurance procedures, Benefit Functions, and Reimbursements to guide patients effectively
• Understanding of Liability issues in healthcare settings
• Experience with Offshore coordination, if necessary, for patient care
• Ability to handle Patient Demographic information with confidentiality and accuracy
• Proficiency in Patient Registration and familiarity with the Registration Process
• Capability to provide Financial Counseling to patients, helping them understand their costs and payment options
• Experience in handling Patient Financial matters, ensuring all financial aspects of patient care are coordinated smoothly
• Familiarity with TRICARE insurance program, if applicable
• Knowledge of NIS (Network Information System), if required
