Were seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the upkeep of our beautiful
schools, ensuring that our facilities are always safe, functional, and
ready for worship, learning, and community. Your role will be vital in
creating a space where Gods work can flourish every day.
Job Summary:
The Facilities Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and
cleaning of campus facilities. This includes ensuring the safety,
functionality, and appearance of all facilities while managing a team.
The Facilities Manager ensures compliance with health and safety
regulations while fostering a positive and functional environment for
students, faculty, and staff.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manages the daily operations of school facilities, ensuring they are
safe, clean, and functional.
- Works in the field at least 75% of the time, actively overseeing
operations, maintenance, and team activities on all campuses.
- Oversees routine maintenance and repairs, scheduling work, and
coordinating with maintenance staff and contractors.
- Ensures all facilities comply with health and safety regulations,
conducts regular inspections, and addresses any issues.
- Supervises and trains maintenance staff, providing guidance and
performance evaluations.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and
administration regarding facilities issues, fostering clear
communication.
- Reports directly to the Facilities Director while also collaborating
with and responding to the Campus Principal regarding
campus-specific needs and priorities.
- Meets regularly (weekly or biweekly) with Campus Principal and other
designated staff to conduct campus walkthroughs and identify needs.
- Oversees facility improvement projects, ensuring they are completed
on time
- Provides regular reports to the Facilities Director regarding
maintenance, repairs, and operations
- Adheres to Valley Christian policies, procedures/processes, and
codes
- Performs other duties assigned by Facilities Director or ELT
(Executive Leadership Team)
- Performs other related assigned duties
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Participates in interviews and in the hiring of staff
- Trains, supervises, counsels, schedules, and evaluates performance
of assigned staff
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that serves as a
consistent testimony to others
- Faithfully attend and financially support a local church that shares
our schools beliefs
- Must have and maintain a valid level one IVP fingerprint card
- Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to multi-task with organization
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with
discretion under varying conditions
- Ability to maintain effective and appropriate relationships with
outside vendors and businesses
- Ability to manage and lead a team, providing guidance and training
- Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly
- Ability to oversees facility improvement projects
- 5+ years of experience in facilities management, or a related role
- Proven experience in maintenance, operations, and project management
- Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and
maintenance procedures
Education and Experience:
- Strong supervisor skills and leadership skills
- Must have an EPA 608-type II certification, or the ability to obtain
one within 90 days of hire
- Must have 5 years of experience in related field
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Certifications in electrical and plumbing
- Bachelors degree in related field
Physical Requirements:
Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings when
needed
Use a computer (visual and keyboard) for long periods of time
Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) 25% of the
time
At times requires stooping, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching
and climbing stairs (2-story)
Use of hands, fingers, arms to reach, grip and maneuver objects
Must be able to respond quickly to sounds (fire/security alarms)
