PRN Requirements:
- PRN Tier 1employees will receive 20% added to their base wage rather
than receive benefits.
- Tier 1employees are required to work a minimum of 1 shift per pay
period or 2 shifts per 4-week schedule, 1 shift must be a weekend
shift - this includes call requirements.
- Working 1 holiday per year or shift that is difficult to fill due to
the holiday as designated by the Department Manager - this includes
call requirements.
The RN in the Intensive Care Unit provides comprehensive nursing care to
adult, geriatric, pediatric and adolescent patients who are critically
ill, require intensive nursing care, need close observation or frequent
nursing intervention. The majority of patients served are adult and
geriatric with a minimal number of pediatric and adolescent patients.
The RN provides coronary care, post-op surgical care, intensive care
services, cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, code blue
management, ventilator management, and patient / family education
services.
The ICU RN responds to all code blues in the building and manages the
code until a physician arrives. The RN provides telemetry services for
the medical / surgical care units. Cardiac rehabilitation services are
provided to inpatients when ordered. Standards of Care are followed as
outlined in the Nursing Policy and Procedure manual.
RN Staff will respond to Rapid Responses and Trauma Activations.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Is expected to work
varying hours, holidays, and weekends. May be expected to take call.
