Interested in and passionate about cutting-edge manufacturing automation technology? We'd love for you to join our e-mobility team!

For the successful worldwide industrialization of e-motor production, we will introduce a safe launch team responsible to ramp-up series manufacturing and secure knowledge transfer in three Bosch locations around the globe. Ramp-up can comprise machine acceptance, installation in a Bosch plant, and production capacity build up in our plants in Hildesheim (Germany), Jihlava (Czech Republic), and in Charleston (USA).

This posting is for an automation / software controls engineer, which includes the following tasks and functional responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex production problems and define measures to improve key performance indicators (e.g. first test yield, scrap rate, technical availability)

  • Cooperation with internal and external partners for process and equipment optimizations

  • Troubleshooting, correcting, and optimizing manufacturing automation controls systems

  • Lead IT infrastructure and software development projects

  • Transfer know-how to target plants in our International Production Network

  • Problem solving and root cause analysis on serial production equipment

  • Daily participation in shopfloor management

  • Ensure a safe ramp-up in the plants

  • Mentor and train hourly associates in proactive maintenance and troubleshooting, including development and rollout of training material

We are searching for highly-motivated candidates to accompany successive ramp-ups in all three locations. This is a unique possibility to work in an international set-up, explore three different locations in three different countries, experience intercultural topics and broaden your professional network.

Note: this job posting requires short-term foreign assignments. We will define together with you and your local HR Business Partner the international assignment model that will allow you to work in all three locations.

Qualifications

The qualified applicant must:

  • have successfully completed a B.S. or higher degree in electrical or computer engineering, electronics, automation, or related

  • have experience with object-oriented languages and PLC programming, C#, or Python

  • have working knowledge of IT concepts and relational databases (e.g. SQL, Oracle, VMs, networking)

  • have hands-on experience with automated equipment technologies (e.g. robots, automated axis systems, vision systems, and feeding systems)

  • be a self-starter and innately curious, with the ability and willingness to dive into and lead development of

  • have minimum three years’ experience in automated, industrial manufacturing

  • be comfortable with crossfunctional activities and international teams

  • be structured and systematic in his / her / their work approach, willing to adapt to dynamic changes

  • be willing and able to travel internationally

  • communicate effectively at all levels of the organization -- this is a high-visibility role!

Strong augmentation of the candidate profile would include experience with:

  • Siemens, ABB, and Nexeed control systems

  • MES integration, data analysis, and production reporting (e.g. SAP)

  • high-voltage equipment (<800 V) -- with in-practice troubleshooting and repair

  • problem solving methodology and root cause analysis

  • statistic and/or analytic problem solving methods such as Shainin or Six Sigma

  • German, English, or Czech language background
