Job Description
Manage Logistics Operations on 2nd shift including:
Component and finished goods receiving, shipping, and plant material delivery systems
Lead team in the execution of a lean production system using appropriate logistics concepts
Ensure departmental goals, objectives and productivity targets are achieved
Improve logistics and throughput time wherever possible
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles (Bosch Production System) to improve material flow
Reduce costs by eliminating waste related to the supply chain
Demonstrate statistical/analytical capabilities
Facilitate and recommend departmental layouts that optimize material flow and support JIT concepts
Monitor adherence to logistics work standards
Liaison between logistics operation and logistics engineering, MFO, QMM, & LOP groups
Provide logistics support on cross-functional teams
Establish guidelines, functional specifications and standardized work. Evaluate and recommend cost reduction alternatives
Supervise and mentor skilled and semi-skilled labor to ensure departmental goals and objectives are achieved
Identify and lead projects to improve safety, cost, quality, delivery and utilization of logistics processes in order to meet targets
Focus on reducing down time and scrap costs utilizing technical skills and problem-solving techniques
Support and lead continuous improvement process and policy deployment objectives
Support the performance and career development of all team members (upgrade process)
Promote a team environment that is focused on customer satisfaction
Perform additional assignments as directed
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience in manufacturing/logistics operations environment preferred
BS degree required. Global Supply Chain or Supply Chain Management preferred
Experience in high volume/technology manufacturing processes, preferably within the automotive industry
Demonstrate discipline and consistency regarding adherence to standards, policies and procedures
Ability to delegate, multi-task, lead groups, and communicate effectively
High level of teamwork, initiative, organizational and problem solving skills
Must be willing to work flexible schedules
