Robert Half Desktop Support Technician in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

We are in search of a Desktop Support Technician with expertise in Active Directory, Windows OS, Office 365 administration, and hardware/software troubleshooting. As a key member of our IT team, you will ensure the efficient operation of our desktop computing environment, offer technical support to end-users, and help maintain our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance to end-users regarding desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop operating systems, predominantly Windows OS.

  • Administer Active Directory services, managing user accounts, group policies, and security settings.

  • Handle Office 365 administration tasks, including user setup, email management, and license allocation.

  • Identify and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops and related devices.

  • Work collaboratively with other IT teams to address complex technical challenges.

  • Maintain detailed records of support incidents, resolutions, and IT inventory.

  • Assist with IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and rollouts.

  • Deliver end-user training on desktop computing practices and software applications.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician or in a similar role.

  • Solid understanding of Active Directory administration, including user management and group policies.

  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems (Windows 7/10) and Office 365 administration.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software platforms.

  • Knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

  • Relevant certifications like CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or equivalent are a plus.
