Humane Society of Charlotte Pet Adoptions Specialist - Bilingual in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Role

The Adoptions Specialist schedule will be Full-time, 4 10-hour shifts, Wednesday-Saturday. As an Adoptions Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing excellent customer care.
  • Completing adoption paperwork.
  • Promoting retail sales.
  • Collecting and maintaining accurate records.
  • Making lifelong matches between customers and our pets.
  • Providing information about the Humane Society of Charlottes policies and procedures and the animals in the shelters care.

What We Need From You

  • Enthusiasm for the mission of the Humane Society of Charlotte and helping animals in our community
  • Preferred: six months to one-year related experience and/or training
  • Must be comfortable interacting with dogs and cats
  • Ability to walk large dogs and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills, including clear and effective communication with others (staff, public, volunteers) that is professional, respectful, positive and educational.
  • Computer literate in a Windows environment; proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
