Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company seeks a Systems Analysis, Retirement & QA - IT for its Charlotte, NC location.

Duties: Analyze business data processing problems and develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, and network concerns. Design, code, and provide code review on DXC mainframe platforms (wmA & Vantage), with a focus on wmA. Analyze information processing or computation needs and plan and design computer systems, using techniques such as structured analysis, data modeling, and information engineering. Support system development through developing applications for high transaction data processing and scalability to support future systems modifications and growing volume of data applying technical expertise in wmA/Vantage platform, COBOL, JCL, CICS, EASYTRIEVE, DB2/VSAM, TSO, ISPF, CA-7, Debugger, Excel VBA, Microsoft Azure, Core Java and Python among other development tools. Perform systems management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations, including analyzing various interconnected legacy applications and understanding the code changes/enhancements needed to support business, compliance or audit requirements, as well as production issues. Provide estimation for mainframe technologies. Define the goals of the system and devise flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs. Perform systems analysis across multiple mainframe technologies with expertise in various programming languages and/or systems. In some instances, expertise in one system of sufficient complexity could be a differentiating activity (eg PeopleSoft senior-level expertise). Contribute to technical design board and develop Software solutions to perform data analysis and data research to expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow and recommend new equipment or software packages. Develop solutions for database objects & entities for reporting functionality, including analyzing or recommending commercially available software and coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems. Responsible for data gathering and analysis; systems design and implementation; logical design; detailed design; ensuring data security in the design; and system evaluation, integration, vetting, modification, troubleshooting, and optimization. Troubleshoot program and system malfunctions to restore normal functioning. Support technical testing, ensuring that system and unit tests are performed and review test results. Develop, document, and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards. Mentor and guide junior team members and provide staff and users with assistance solving computer-related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems. Collaborate with IT colleagues, including IT Architecture team, to understand best practices, methodologies and tools and read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn how to develop programs that meet staff and user requirements.

The base salary range for this position is $128,232-150,505/year. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology or closely related IT field and 4 years of progressive experience as Software Engineer, Programmer Analyst or closely related IT position involving life insurance and/or annuity application/systems development. Experience must include: COBOL; SQL/DB2; JCL; VB Macro; and CICS. Must have at least 3 years of experience with wmA and Vantage insurance product development. Partial remote work schedule available. 40 hours/week. Salary is $128,232-150,505/year. Direct applicants only.
