To succeed in this position, CDL Drivers must be able to operate the class of vehicle they're licensed for, attend to delivery and maintenance details, and apply critical thinking principles to determine routes and make other decisions throughout their work. Their primary responsibility is to deliver goods or people on time, safely and according to customer requirements

Responsibilities:

1. Safely operate and maneuver a tractor-trailer truck in various driving conditions, including urban, suburban, and rural settings.
2. Transport goods and materials over long distances, ensuring timely delivery to designated locations.
3. Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards while operating the vehicle.
4. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, reporting any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
5. Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit, using straps, chains, or other securing devices as necessary.
6. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery activities, utilizing electronic logging devices (ELDs) or other tracking systems.
7. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, shippers, and receivers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues that may arise during transportation.
8. Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely and professional delivery of goods and addressing customer inquiries or concerns as needed.
9. Follow company policies and procedures regarding vehicle maintenance, safety protocols, and operational guidelines.
