Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate and efficient processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a commitment to precision, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect, review, and accurately enter employee timecards, hours worked, and payroll adjustments into the payroll system.
Support weekly payroll processing activities, ensuring timely and consistent delivery of payroll.
Verify and calculate overtime, bonuses, and payroll deductions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
Maintain accurate records and ensure proper processing of payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and accounting teams to address payroll-related issues and reconcile discrepancies.
Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations to maintain compliance.
Assist with payroll reporting, auditing, and year-end activities.
Requirements
Proven experience in payroll administration or a related role.
Working knowledge of payroll systems and software, including electronic timesheets.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of payroll processing.
Familiarity with applicable payroll laws, tax codes, and regulations.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies.
High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
Certification in payroll, such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
