A Chattanooga manufacturer is seeking a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will have broad based general ledger duties, assisting the Controller in managing the month-end close, inventory, and costing areas.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure accuracy and compliance within the company's general ledger through thorough management and maintenance.
• Conduct detailed reconciliations and analyses of balance sheet accounts to bolster financial reporting.
• Perform in-depth costing analysis to confirm the accuracy of product costing.
• Execute variance analysis to pinpoint and probe discrepancies between actual and budgeted costs.
• Utilize your industry knowledge to provide valuable insights into financial processes and decision-making.
• Collaborate with various teams to collect pertinent data and offer financial support for manufacturing operations.
• Prepare and scrutinize financial statements, offering insights and recommendations to management.
• Generate precise and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Use intermediate Excel skills to construct and upkeep complex financial models and reports.
• Leverage Excel functions to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in Cost - Standard accounting practices
• Demonstrated experience with Inventory Variance
• Proven ability to post Journal Entries accurately and efficiently
• Experience with Monthly Accruals is essential
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required
• Familiarity with AS400 accounting software
• Experience in making Adjusting Journal Entries
• Knowledge of Accruals is necessary
• Ability to prepare and submit Sales Tax Returns
• Experience in managing CapEx is desirable
