The Production Supervisor directs and coordinates activities for the
proper assembly, set-up, and operation of the department to produce
quality product according to established specifications and outputs, by
performing the specific duties personally or through subordinate or Team
Leaders. RESPONSIBILITIES: Review production schedules to ascertain
projected workload, product types, quantities, and specifications of
products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations
Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to
ensure production and quality of products meets specifications Review
production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing,
and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational
delays Observe workflow and machine utilization to ensure specific
operational performance and optimum utilization Develop and/or revise
standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure
compliance with standards Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled
grievances to Human Resources or Plant Manager for action Compile, store
and retrieve production data Meets with work teams once per week for
safety trainings and to discuss weekly departmental agendas Manage
subordinate team leader who coordinates the work of up to total of 15 to
25 employees in the work team Responsible for the overall direction,
coordination, and evaluation of the department Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organizations? policies and
applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and
training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints
and resolving problems May cover for other supervisors Promotes and
maintains the META initiative which emphasizes employee engagement, team
building and continuous improvement REQUIREMENTS: One to three years of
supervisory/leadership experience Food processing experience preferred
BS/BA Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of experience and
college Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus Must have
excellent communication and leadership skills and possess strong
mathematical aptitude Must be flexible with work hours and be able to
work overtime and/or weekends Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35
