The Course Supervisor is required to work with the deputy course manager and course manager in a supporting roll, setting the standard for the operational associates in relation to productivity levels, attitude, presentation standards for any tasks undertaken, plus their own personal presentation. The Course Supervisor is also required to control task completion standards, which must include when required, 360 o communication with the Deputy Course Manager, the Golf Course Manager, Mechanic, Other Course Supervisor and if required the Director of Golf and Golf Team.

The Golf Greenkeeping department must be managed to ensure that the quality and presentation of the course and grounds are to a standard which maximises utilisation and meets guest and member expectations, enabling the achievement of business objectives. The Course Supervisor has a vital role in the team by being the semi-permanent eyes in one particular area of the business, with the responsibility for supervising the day-to-day quality and quantity of work carried out on the course. This must include insuring that all health and safety controls, including PPE are in place for all tasks.

As part of the supervisory role responsibility, the Course Supervisor will be required to train and monitor any associate working on the area for which they are responsible in the work method best suited to that particular area, whilst maintaining a consistent work standard throughout the estate. As a result, the performance and standards of the Course Supervisor must be the very highest, thereby, following the Marriott value of being a Brilliant Host, by employing the guiding principal of Leading By Example.

As part of the role, the Course Supervisor will form part of the department management team and be required to control the running of weekend shifts, to include; the allocation of pre-determined tasks for all areas of the department, the alteration of task allocation as dictated by unforeseen circumstances, and during certain situations the Status of both Golf Course (Open, Closed, permission of Trolley or Buggy use).

At times, when business needs dictate, the Course Supervisor will be required to help with the preparation and presentation of either Course. This may be in a supervisory capacity or as part of a team. This may include, but not be limited to, periods of absence for the other Course Supervisor, Deputy Golf Course Manager or Golf Course Manager.

The position as one of the two Course Supervisors are essentially greenkeeping supervisor positions, and as a result are interchangeable. Consequently, to facilitate the best possible running of the department the Course Supervisor on the Mathern Course may be required to exchange positions with the Course Supervisor on the Old Course for any time period as decided by the Golf Course Manager.
