Humana Business Intelligence Lead in Cheyenne, Wyoming

The Business Intelligence Lead solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The population health analytics team within Humana is dedicated to transforming health outcomes of Medicaid members using Humana’s technology and analytics. We are looking for a Business Intelligence Lead who will design and develop data models and turn data and insights into actionable plans. The Business Intelligence Lead will work cross-functionally and collaboratively with teams across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and leadership skills and Innovative mindset to drive continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies. The range of work includes solving complex problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial, developing data analytics infrastructure strategies, building models to forecast future trends and outcomes, and create various data products.

  • Collaborates and negotiates with cross functional business units and establishes effective data and business analytics infrastructure for big data analysis and machine learning.

  • Oversees the collection, integration, and management of data from various sources ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency and supports data governance programs.

  • Researches and evaluates innovative analytical methodologies, approaches, and solutions.

  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights to drive effective operations, strategies and decision making

  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and business partners.

  • Ability to think strategically and align BI initiatives with organizational goals.

  • Drive innovation in BI practices and methodologies and promote a culture of continuous improvement

  • Develops, maintains, and collects structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting.

  • Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues and works under minimal supervision and determine the best course of action.

  • Must be comfortable adjusting to constantly changing business priorities and able to manage multiple projects at once.

  • Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or data science or mathematics

  • 5+ years of technical and data analytics experience.

  • 3+ years of project leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView

  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and experience with data warehousing and ETL processes

  • Proficiency with programming languages like Python including libraries such as Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow and Keras for data analysis, machine learning and visualization

  • Hands on experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices, creating user stories, and tools such as Azure Bords, Kanban boards or Jira.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, and Databricks for data integration, advanced analytics, and machine learning.

  • Experience with utilizing AI and machine learning algorithms to analyze large datasets, predict trends, and improve decision-making

  • Must be available to travel occasionally to the Market office for meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or payer settings

  • Experience with API integration to extract and manage data pipelines for analysis and modeling

  • Master’s degree in data science, computer science, or Mathematics

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$117,600 - $161,700 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
