Number of Positions: One (1) - (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)

This position is open to the public and all current city employees covered under the City’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) – BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

Under general supervision, the class performs administrative and office management support functions for a city manager or supervises clerical and administrative office operations; and performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Create letters, memoranda, and various inventory and warehouse usage reports.

· Order and maintain materials and supplies.

· Imputing data entry and filing of various paperwork.

· Receiving and responding to calls from employees and vendors.

· Prepare paperwork and process invoices.

· Creating APRF in FMS system for supervisor.

Additional duties may be required for this position.

Division: Warehouse Division

Days Off: Saturday and Sunday

Shift: Monday-Friday

Hours: 7:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.

THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of progressively responsible administrative or secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

NOTE: The candidates selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires applicants to successfully Pass a skills assessment test IN ORDER TO BE interviewed. Test results will be sent out by the Department of Human Resources after test results have been analyzed and compiled. The interviewed candidate(s) who possess the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected.

Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:

  • Previous experience processing documents.

  • Previous experience providing customer service over the phone.

  • Previous experience providing customer service face to face.

  • Proficiency in MS Word.
