What does a Digital Media Sales Planner do?

As a Media Sales Planner, you will be responsible for driving revenue, managing advertising campaigns, and ensuring exceptional customer service for our clients. You will be responsible for assisting the full sales cycle from pre-sales to campaign execution to post-sale. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to launch, manage, and optimize campaigns across various buying channels.

Position Summary:

During your apprenticeship with Catalyte, you will develop and hone your foundational skills in Sales under the tutelage of experienced sellers and work on real projects within the Sales Planner capacity.

You will learn to effectively build relationships and engage with existing customers. We will hone your skills in communication, negotiation, and relationship-building. Sales Planners will learn to navigate sales tools and technologies, conduct market research, analyze customer needs, and work closely with sales and marketing teams. Sales Planners also develop resilience, adaptability, and time management skills as they handle objections, troubleshoot client issues, ensure revenue delivery, and prioritize tasks to meet sales targets. Overall, being a Sales Planner equips you with the foundational skills and knowledge needed to excel in sales, marketing, business development, and other related roles.

  • Experience in ad operations, account management, or campaign management is a plus.

Typical Sales Planner Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review client requests and collaborate internally to create strong sales proposals that drive revenue and retention.

  • Contribute to sales presentations by preparing key data points, historical findings and relevant advertiser research.

  • Contribute to in-person and/or video conference meetings with clients, including creation of presentations, calendar coordination, campaign insights, and platform best practices.

  • Responsible for adhering to all internal sales guidelines, sales processes, and operating cadences.

  • Manage the setup, execution, and optimization of direct and programmatic ad campaigns across multiple clients.

  • Ensure pacing and strong performance of campaigns, proactively identifying areas for optimization and upsell opportunities.

  • Provide comprehensive reporting during the campaign to identify optimization and incremental revenue opportunities for clients across all buying channels.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot technical issues related to measurement, targeting, and ad-serving platforms.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, ensuring accurate campaign details and excellent customer service.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to digital media and advertising.
