Federal Tax Manager, Planning & Compliance
Job Description Summary
The Federal Tax Planning & Compliance Manager will be involved with many aspects of the corporate tax function, primarily engaging in managing the Company’s federal income tax compliance and tax planning. You will also assist the VP of U.S. Tax Reporting & Special Projects with M&A and domestic tax accounting and developing a team of tax professionals. The ideal candidate must have a strong commitment to excellence, be a team player, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, growing environment.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Manage the U.S. federal income tax return process with outside firm, including reviewing/preparing supporting tax calculations and gathering relevant data
Identify, develop, and implement US tax planning opportunities;
Proactively support U.S. M&A due diligence and structuring;
Provide advice, direction and support to resolve technical tax/accounting issues;
Responsible for monitoring legislative and regulatory tax law developments and analyze/interpret changes to federal tax laws and its impact to the tax return and/or financial statements
Review various aspects of the quarterly tax provision, analysis of tax accounts, and reserves, including calculating book-to-tax adjustments and return-to-provision adjustments
Review the annual extension and quarterly estimated tax payment process
Proactively identify and implement process improvements that promote efficiency and accuracy
Maintain records and documentation to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and be in state of audit-readiness in case of Federal audit;
Communicate and develop relationships with business unit finance personnel as well as outside consultants and financial statement auditors;
Be able to challenge the status quo and recommend and build processes and implement improvements;
Effectively lead and mentor team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA or JD is preferred
CPA is preferred
5+ years of tax planning & compliance experience
Experience working for Big 4 or CRE industry is preferred
Knowledge of U.S. corporation taxation in a global structure
Exposure to M&A, restructurings, divestitures
Experience with OneSource Tax Provision software is preferred
Experience with developing & leading a team as well as managing a team of consultants
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $106,250.00 - $125,000.00
