Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, is seeking a highly qualified associate
with two to four years of health care regulatory experience to join our
growing team. Among other issues, this role will include a strong focus
on regulatory analysis and policy advising related to the Medicaid
program. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, top-tier
health care practice renowned for its integrated professional services
approach, which combines legal and consulting services. Manatt Health
advises state governments on Medicaid program reform efforts. We also
support a variety of other stakeholders to understand, comply with, and
advocate for policy reforms at the federal and state levels.
We are looking for candidates who have a strong interest in and
enthusiasm for complex regulatory and policy questions pertaining to the
Medicaid program, as well as a passion for supporting projects that
enhance access to affordable, high-quality health care services. Ideal
candidates will have demonstrated experience in Medicaid issues, such as
coverage, reimbursement, managed care delivery systems, or demonstration
projects under section 1115 of the Social Security Act. Candidates
without such experience are nonetheless encouraged to apply if they have
a strong interest in and willingness to learn about Medicaid,
particularly if they have experience with the federal Administrative
Procedure Act.
In addition to working on Medicaid issues, this associate will have the
opportunity to engage with all facets of our uniquely multidisciplinary
practice. Our health care transactions and regulatory team assists with
the structuring and negotiation of transactions, provides strategic
advice on regulatory and compliance issues, implements a variety of
contractual arrangements, and counsels clients on the full range of
legal issues affecting the health care industry. The practice is
fast-moving, cutting-edge and dynamic, with opportunities to develop
close relationships with many of the most significant players in the
health care industry.
We serve a wide range of clients that includes state governments; health
care providers such as health systems, specialized hospitals, medical
groups, pharmacy chains, and long-term and post-acute care providers;
managed care plans and insurers; life sciences companies; regional
health information organizations; telehealth and digital health
companies; and labor unions representing health care workers.
Importantly, we are looking for attorneys who work well in a team
setting. Manatt, and the Health Care practice specifically, values
collaboration, sharing and teamwork. We are a close-knit group.
Qualified candidates will share our values of collegiality, and because
we will invest significant resources in your future, we are looking for
people who are interested in establishing a career here.
If you can see yourself on the cutting edge of the issues and
opportunities facing the health care sector, we strongly encourage you
to apply. All applications must be made through our online application
portal (applyhere{target="_blank"

upload a cover letter, resume, transcript and writing sample from your
academic or work experience where you are the sole author (e.g., policy
