TEKsystems IT Support Specialist in Chicago, Illinois

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide top-notch technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues, ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime.

  • Administration: Administer and manage Windows OS, Active Directory, and cloud-based services to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

  • Configuration: Configure and manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and network configurations to optimize performance and security.

  • Virtualization: Utilize virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to enhance system capabilities and efficiency.

  • Automation: Leverage scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation to streamline processes and improve productivity.

  • Remote Support: Provide remote desktop support using tools like TeamViewer and Remote Desktop to assist end-users effectively.

  • ITIL Processes: Implement ITIL processes and best practices to ensure consistent and reliable IT service delivery.

  • Endpoint Management: Manage endpoint solutions (e.g., SCCM, Intune) to maintain and secure devices across the organization.

  • Cloud Services: Utilize cloud services (e.g., Office 365, Azure) to support and enhance IT infrastructure.

  • Mobile Device Management: Implement and manage mobile device management (MDM) solutions to ensure secure and efficient mobile operations.

  • Documentation: Document processes, train team members, and ensure smooth operations through clear and comprehensive documentation.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the IT leadership team and other departments to ensure business continuity and maintain system uptime.

  • Coordination: Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders as needed to support IT initiatives and projects.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations, with a proven track record of managing a team.

  • Proficient in administering and troubleshooting Windows OS, Active Directory, and cloud-based services.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve issues.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate across all staff/management levels.

  • Familiarity with IT service management tools and ticketing systems.

  • Willingness to work collaboratively with the IT leadership team and other departments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with vendor management and contract negotiations.

  • Familiarity with data protection regulations and compliance standards.

  • Experience with scripting software solutions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
