Responsible for providing accounting support for GEHC pension and defined contribution plans for both US and international plans. Includes regulatory reporting, technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, systems administration, and process simplifications to deliver accurate financial reporting.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provides accounting support for GEHC’s Principal Pension Plans by preparing journal entries and preparing and reviewing account reconciliations. Also play a role in the accounting process of 50+ Non-US plans

  • Become Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the GEHC Pension Trust including working with asset custodian and internal resources to record transactions and ensure integrity of the trust.

  • Coordinate reporting of benefit payment disclosures for 15 plans worldwide in addition to ensuring accuracy of US plan payments with Treasury and Banking teams

  • Assists in preparing regulatory reporting including employee benefit financial statements and Form 5500s.

  • Provides support for SEC reporting for Pension processes for 10K/10Q reporting.

  • Assists in financial reporting by providing variance explanations, cash-flow forecasts, and other analysis and data.

  • Develops process improvements for monthly/quarterly/yearly activities that will streamline tasks and increase capacity.

  • Backup System Administrator for GEHC’s system for health & welfare accounting (TORCH) and Pension subledger systems

  • Project work as GEHC continues improvements to financial processes including ; change in Pension subledger system to new tool, process documentation of new tool and supporting the broader team on company-wide new query tool for ledger details

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in accounting or finance

  • Minimum 6 years accounting experience

  • At least 3 years experience with pension GAAP accounting

  • Experience managing multiple ERISA audits

  • Experience with Qualified and Non-Qualified defined benefit plans

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with pension trust accounting

  • Experience with multi-country company and multiple ledger systems

  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems

  • Strong financial analysis skills

  • Strong orientation towards process improvements

  • Self-starter/team player

  • Ability to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks and resources with changing priorities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $97,920.00-$146,880.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
