Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Summary/Objective
The Mason performs all refractory work. Repair and relining of rotary &
coreless furnaces.
Essential Functions
Performs all refractory work and any mechanical work related to
refractory reconstruction.
Performs all required pre and post visual and checklist type forms.
Assists in other maintenance department operations as directed by a
supervisor.

Qualifications
Language Skills: Must speak, read and understand instructions in the
English language.
Mathematical Skills: Must have basic math skills.
Additional Skills: Must be able to troubleshoot, multitask and master
skills in masonry. Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to
train others.
Certifications: Must participate in forklift and aerial lift training
and obtain forklift certification.
Physical Demands
Walking, sitting, standing, bending, moving continually, ability to do
aerial work and occasional heavy lifting is required.
Primary Tools/Equipment: Tools of the trade, various hand tools,
forklift, aerial lifts, material handling equipment, and/or other
tool(s) required depending on the task.
Expected Hours of Work
The Mason is expected to work full-time, as scheduled. Daily and weekend
overtime will be required when circumstances demand it. In the event of
an emergency, the Mason may be called in during off hours to maintain
workflow.
Work Environment
The Mason may be exposed to molten metal, low and high temperatures and
noise, normally found in a foundry environment.
Safety & Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) The Mason is
required to abide by all safe operational procedures, rules, and PPE
requirements integrated into H. Kramer and Co.s working environment.
Housekeeping The Mason is required to keep all areas of work neat and
orderly throughout the workday, to promote a safe working environment.
The Mason is responsible for making sure all tools, supplies, and
equipment are returned to their proper place after completing their job.
