Robert Half Project Accountant in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity in the architecture industry based in Chicago, Illinois. We are looking for an organized and detail-focused Project Accountant. This role involves managing accounting functions for architectural projects, utilizing various accounting software systems, and handling billing and budget processes related to construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee accounting functions for architectural projects

• Utilize accounting software systems such as Deltek Vision for efficient project management

• Handle accounts payable and ensure all payments are processed in a timely manner

• Oversee billing functions related to architectural projects

• Conduct regular reviews of CapEx (Capital Expenditure) for each project

• Maintain accurate records of all project-related financial transactions

• Participate in budget processes and ensure all project budgets are adhered to

• Resolve any financial discrepancies or issues related to architectural projects

• Collaborate with the project team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

• Assist in other accounting functions as needed in the architecture industry. Requirements • Possess proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with CapEx is essential

• Familiarity with Deltek Vision would be advantageous

• Proven ability in handling Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is required

• Strong understanding of Billing Functions

• Knowledge of Budget Processes is vital

• Previous experience in the Construction industry is desirable

• Solid understanding of architectural project accounting practices

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred

• Proven ability to work in a team environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to multitask and manage numerous projects simultaneously

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
