Microsoft has committed to become Carbon Negative, Water Positive, and Zero Waste by 2023, and is seeking a Regional Zero-Waste Senior Program Manager, Datacenter Operations to support and execute the organization's sustainability strategy. As a Regional Zero-Waste Senior Program Manager, Datacenter Operations, you will drive programs to design and deliver on our sustainability targets, focusing on cross-functional relationships and interdepartmental alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact and role model for best practices, pilot programs, and standardization for all Microsoft Zero-Waste initiatives.

  • Support implementation of project and program to ensure regional sites achieve waste reduction and diversion objectives

  • Interface with vendor partners and regional teams to acquire waste data and report on Zero-Waste Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) and sustainability impacts.

  • Coordinate across regional sites to ensure standardization of effective Zero-Waste practices.

  • Report monthly highlights, key learnings, and impacts of sustainability actions across your region.

  • Consolidate and report quantitative and qualitative elements of on-site sustainability projects.

  • Recruit CO+I employees for volunteer events, sustainability initiatives, education opportunities, and connect employees with existing resources.

  • Act as point of contact and evangelist for community sustainability projects.

  • Connect with local environmental organizations for partnership where appropriate.

  • Partner with the CO+I global team and local Corporate, External, & Legal (CELA) Government Affairs lead on “regulatory positioning on circular economy and waste”.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years program/project management experience in environment/sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or circular economy in a large-scale mission critical industry (i.e. datacenters, manufacturing, renewable energy)

  • OR 3+ years' program/project management experience in environment/sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or circular economy in a large-scale mission critical industry (i.e. datacenters, manufacturing, renewable energy).

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years' program/project management experience in environment/sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or circular economy in a large-scale mission critical industry (i.e. datacenters, manufacturing, renewable energy)

  • Experience with waste accounting or other sustainability reporting.

  • Ability to interpret sustainability data and anecdotal feedback, synthesize, and explain to others.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products and collaboration software

  • Data management and data analysis experience

  • Internet-of-Things (IoT) experience, particularly toward sustainability monitoring and reporting.

  • Azure DevOps or similar experience with end-to-end product/program development software.

Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,800 - $195,000 per year.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $135,200 - $222,000 per year.

Data Center Operations Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $125,400 - $226,200 per year.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $166,000 - $249,000 per year.
