Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Specialist who has experience
specifically with immunization Information System HL7 message formats,
transmission, and electronic reporting preparation. This position will
be full-time and remote.
What You\'ll Do
- Serve as the Immunization Information System HL7 Subject Matter
Expert providing technical solutions and assistance supports to
hospital IIS HL7 onboarding
- Work with program staff on providing IIS HL7 onboarding work plan
for each individual hospital and attend meetings and discussions
with state holders
- Work with program to understand business needs, external partners
(providers and hospitals) to identify technical requirements, and IT
staff to advise IIS HL7 processes implementation
- Review and provide technical assistance and guidance on IIS HL7
message mapping format and standards, and to evaluate mapping
functionalities
- Participate in multiple programming activities and projects adhering
to the current SDLC process. Activities shall include team meetings
and processes around analysis, coding, testing, debugging,
implementation, and documentation
What You\'ll Need
Required:
- Experience serving as an HL7 Subject Matter Expert providing
technical solutions and assistance for Immunization HL7 onboarding
- Experience with HL7 v2.5.1 messaging, specifically
- Experience working with public health immunization systems in
relation to vaccine data
- Experience taking source to target mappings and coding independently
- Experience creating immunization information onboarding work plans
and companion guides
- Experience working directly w/hospitals or healthcare providers
regarding HL7 message formats, transmission and reporting
preparation
- Working w/internal programs to understand bus. needs, providers and
hospitals to ID technical requirements, and IT staff to advise HL7
implementation
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues,
performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, etc.
- Providing technical assistance and guidance on HL7 message mapping
format/standards, evaluating mapping functionalities for
immunization systems
- Experience with SOAP Web Services and the CDC WSDL to identify and
troubleshoot connectivity issues (XML) and file log warnings and
errors in onboarding
- Awareness of cultural diversity and can embrace and capitalize those
differences; applies knowledge in decision-making process
- Ability to identify project risks by defining risk strategies and
developing the risk management plan
- Participates as part of a team, understanding the various work
styles of others and their roles on the team. Demonstrates
enthusiasm and commitment to the goals and objectives of the team
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job
functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and
local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of
the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend
meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a
mouse, keyboard, and monitors
