ARAMARK Training & Engagement Coordinator - Amtrak - Chicago in Chicago, Illinois

Job Description

Oversees all training, development, orientation/on-boarding, diversity & inclusion, and employee engagement programs at the account location with the key objective of driving positive workforce experiences, culture, productivity, and retention, as well as support the vision, mission, value, and goals of the company. Maintains and helps enhance the training materials, activities, and programs in conjunction with leadership and Human Resources. This position may also have other administrative responsibilities such as payroll, wage & hour compliance, and employee personnel files.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains friendly, efficient, positive, service-oriented demeanor and communication with customers, clients, leadership, employees, and co-workers.

  • Responsible for execution of all required training programs and SOP adherence for all departments to establish a sustainable, engaged workplace culture that is deep-rooted in learning, development, and safety.

  • Facilitates and executes the training of all new hires and the coaching and re-training of existing employees. Supports the Performance Management process, as required, in collaboration with location leadership.

  • Partners with Operations Leadership and Human Resources to identify management level development needs and continuing education opportunities, as well as the training of subject matter experts as needed.

  • Responsible for coordination and completion of annual training required for Amtrak Logistics Services business; prepares and facilitates training sessions along with the operations managers.

  • Partners with District Safety Leader and location Safety Captains to implement and maintain safety training programs and employee safety committees.

  • Prepares training program content, materials, and supplies; responsible for correspondence with training attendees as well as documenting attendance and training completion (SOP sign-off; Tell-Show-Do-Feedback documentation).

Long Description

  • Responsible for maintaining all employee training records in employee personnel and commissary files.

  • Monitors work in the warehouse, train yard, station, and onboard trains to assess and validate SOP compliance and ensure Aramark?s operational and safety standards are being maintained.

  • Helps manage the location?s Employee Engagement and Employee Meals budget plan and execution.

  • Maintains pulse on full-spectrum of experiences; plan, coordinate and execute special events for celebrations, recognition, and employee engagement activities.

  • Responsible for maintaining Employee Peer Trainer program; provide ?Train the Trainer? training to Peer Trainers; match each new hire with an appropriate Peer Trainer; monitor check-ins at critical milestones during the first 90 days of new hire employment.

  • Responsible for On-boarding (myAramark) platforms for all positions, including management; utilize myFirstDay, myFirst7Days, myFirst60Days, myFirst90Days, myCoStar, etc.

  • Introduces ERGs to all employees upon hire to support Aramark?s Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.

  • Responsible for maintaining all employee training records in employee personnel and commissary files.

Long Description

  • Maintain WIMS and Operational SOPs (national & local) and updates training materials and policies as required to support their execution and compliance.

  • Evaluates SOPs and recommend any needed changes to respective SOP owners.

  • Robust knowledge of Aramark policies, regulatory safety procedures and requirements including OSHA, FRA, FDA, USDA, CDC, DOT, Amtrak Public Health, state, country, and local agencies to ensure training and operational compliance.

  • Direct employees to employment relations resources and escalate issues to Human Resources, as required.

  • Maintain working knowledge of Human Resources systems and platforms.

  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must possess 3+ years of managerial, training and/or human resources experience.

  • Higher education, such as a bachelor?s degree in a related field is preferred.

  • Dedicated to developing a strong, diverse, and supportive organization.

  • Possess excellent verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally in person, by phone, virtually, and through email.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while engaging and interacting with staff at all levels, and remaining positive, proactive, and resourceful.

  • Demonstrates creativity, initiative, strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently and independently.

  • Must possess a high level of accuracy, passion for details, data analysis skills, and be well organized to manage multiple priorities simultaneously ? solutions oriented on results.

  • Energy and empathy needed to work well and collaboratively as part of a team, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Excellent customer service skills, event coordination, and follow through.

  • Flexibility in working a rotating schedule, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays, and a reliable attendance record.
