Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Water Quality Manager to support the Chicago Department of Water’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This position with managing various tasks including water quality testing, regulatory compliance/reporting, and stakeholder communications. In addition, this position will coordinate with Program Management Office (PMO) applied technologies staff on water quality data analytics and dashboarding. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Lead, manage, and mentor the water quality team with under ten people, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Develop/implement/enhance standard operating procedures for emergency response ; and support DWM in coordinating with relevant stakeholders during emergencies.
Support DWM with stakeholder collaboration and manage initiatives to maintain and improve water quality management processes and timely PMO actions such as data collection and comprehensive water quality reporting.
Manage various workflows related to water quality monitoring, testing, and analysis.
Ensure that sampling schedules, testing protocols, and reporting timelines are consistently met.
Coordinate data analytics and dash boarding efforts with Applied Technologies Task Leader. Analyze water quality data and trends, gain insights and lead continuous improvements.
Lead and develop required water quality reports. Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of water quality reports.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and reporting requirements and stay abreast of national/state/local regulations.
Manage recruitment, training, and development of Water Quality team members.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or engineering with emphasis on water quality and 4+ years of relevant experience in water distribution systems or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Relevant professional licensing and certifications in Illinois or the ability to obtain one within first 6 months of employment (PE, ENV SP, PMP).
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
10+years of progressive experience in water quality management for municipal drinking water distribution systems, specifically in addressing water quality issues with lead and copper service lines.
Regulatory knowledge/expertise in lead and copper service line replacement requirements.
Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $150,000.00.
