Job Description Summary

The WWPP (World-Wide Product Planning) Senior Finance Manager, will be the primary Finance partner for the WWPP Executive Leadership team (Corporate CFO, CSO, and WWPP Leader), Segments and Group FP&A, and the primary owner of all related finance processes for the entire company. This role reports directly to the Global Science and Technology Org FP&A & Advanced Technology Finance Leader.

Job Description

Context

Execution of the WWPP roadmap, including next gen tech & platforms is one of the major priorities for GEHC for 2024. WWPP is an annual planning exercise performed collaboratively with Segments, Regions and Functions to:

  • Build long-term strategy and roadmaps for the products (development, commercialization, execution)

  • Identify the key NPI/R&D programs for investment in order to maximize the financial returns like NPV, IRR and Payback to maximize the company and shareholders value

This role will be providing leadership to all the finance teams engaged globally on WWPP processes with respect to:

  • Driving the usage of data management and analytics tools

  • Identifying any finance-driven enhancement opportunities for the existing tools or processes to comply with the finance standards

  • Maximizing the collective outcome to identify the key investable programs, prioritize them, develop risks and opportunities

Role and Responsibilities

  • Closely partner with WWPP Operations leader, Segments Finance and Group FP&A to lead the annual WWPP review cycle with GEHC CEO and CFO from finance perspective

  • Collaborate with Segment R&D Finance leaders to consolidate R&D Financials at the company level, develop the trends, story-telling and support decision making

  • Lead the changes to global WWPP policy and NPI business case templates with annual re-setting of finance parameters.

  • Perform regular audits to drive governance and full compliance of finance standards set in agreement with GEHC CFO

  • Use the lean principles to improve current WWPP processes and operating mechanism and drive the governance to improve the qualitative output and

  • Drive 100% implementation and usage of PPM tool (Project Performance Management) with all the segments as the only source to track the inputs and progress of all the NPI programs

  • Drive R&D Dashboard usage (Power BI tool) as the single analytics and decision-making tool to rack and stack NPI program level details from PPM and rank the programs based on set criteria

  • Establish R&D prioritization metrics by evaluating funded vs unfunded programs

  • Partner with NPI/R&D acceleration leader to optimize current Product Review Development (PRD) process and accelerate software based NPIs to improve commercial launches and fasten the profitability for the company – part of Big Rocks for 2024

  • Operate as an extension of Global FP&A team to align WWPP timing, set annual R&D financial guidance and feed output from WWPP reviews into other annual planning cycles like LTS (Long-Term Strategy), Budget and BOD reviews (Board of Directors).

  • Layout clear guidance, timelines and set expectations with the Segments for financial submissions

  • Drive clear ROI metrics and ranking method across 500+ programs

  • Lead NPI Vitality quarterly financial metrics in closely working with Lean Management office, FP&A and Segment R&D Finance team

  • Implement holistic WWPP mechanism for STO function specifically and improve the visibility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and 7+ years financial work experience; Or High-school Diploma and 12+ years of financial work experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s degree, MBA, CPA or a graduate of any finance leadership program at GE or GEHC

  • Experience working in GEHC Finance (either in a Region, Segment or Group FP&A team)

  • Experience working with global and cross-functional teams

  • Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma

Technical Acumen

  • Advanced PC skills: Must have proficient skills with PowerPoint (to build leadership review decks) and Excel (data aggregation, trend analytics, executive dashboards)

  • Ledger: Must have experience with using Essbase/Hyperion (to run financials)

  • BI tools: Experience with Power BI, Spotfire etc. (to run analytics)

  • Project management tools: Working experience with PPM tools

  • Lean tools: Proven experience working with lean principles to identify the gaps/waste and develop standard practices
