hour Licenses: N/A SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s \| Human Resources
Department is seeking an HR Generalist. This individual will, under
general guidance, this position assists the Chief HR Officer and
Assistant Director of Human Resources in planning, organizing, and
maintaining assigned HR operations, actions, programs, and subroutines
of the City of Chicopee. This position is responsible for the
maintenance of regulatory compliance, recruitment functions, workers?
compensation and unemployment case and procedural processing.
Responsibilities entail a variety of administrative and professional
duties requiring a high degree of confidentiality, decision making, and
assistance in the conception and practice of Human Resource policies and
operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE \| Administers HR programs and
services for the City; provides for the administration of appropriate
recruitment, training, regulatory compliance, analytics and other HR
development programs and activities conforming to Federal, State, and
local requirements, policies, and regulations. \| Works with the Senior
HR Generalist to execute processes and strategies to successfully
recruit employees. \| Ensures compliance with Civil Service (including
official and labor service) laws regarding the hiring, recordkeeping,
and discipline process of employees. \| Prepares and maintains
recruitment and hiring activities, including the posting of vacancies,
preparation of advertisement, screening of internal and external
applications, assisting Human Resource staff and department conducting
new employee orientation sessions. Maintain integrity of employment
processes according to City policies, MGL c.31, FMCSA, Department of
Labor, OFCCP, and UGESP. \| Maintains knowledge of policies and
procedures, ensuring consistent interpretation and application,
including SOPs, practices, Civil Service guidelines, contracts, and
CBAs. \| Coordinates Workers Compensation to maintain compliance and
mitigate liability for the City and Schools. \| Develops, executes, and
runs reports, metrics, and data to aid leadership in the strategic
planning of the HR Department?s initiatives to effectively and
efficiently serve the City. \| Other duties as assigned per the full job
description. QUALIFICATIONS To be minimally qualified for this position,
one must meet the following criteria: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: \| A minimum
of an Associate?s Degree in Business Administration, Law, Human
Resources or in another related field. \| A minimum of four (4) years of
experience in Human Resources. o Or an equivalent combination of
education and/or experience that enables performance of all aspects of
this position SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: \| MUNIS/Enterprise ERP
experience preferred but not required. \| Municipal and/or Public
Administration experience is strongly preferred. \| Knowledge of
recruitment, workers? compensation, and unemployment strongly preferred
COMPENSATION, SCHEDULE, & BENEFITS This is a Full Time, 40-hour/week
position, with the hours of 8:00 AM \| 5:00 PM, Monday ? Friday. This is
a confidential position, classified in the City?s Chapter 7 Ordinance
[Non \| Union], Grade 06, starting at Step 01, \$22.22 per hour and
periodic step and pay increases upon continuous completion of employment
with the City of Chicopee.
