CHICOPEE Kitchen Staff The Center School, part of the Positive Regard
Network (Chicopee, MA) invites applicants for the position of Kitchen
Staff. Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, assists in the
safe, efficient and sanitary day-to-day operations of the food service
facilities. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
Experience cooking and preparing food in school and industrial food
service are strongly preferred, as well as experience within special
education, milieu treatment or related field. Certification in ServSafe,
Allergen Awareness and Choking Safety Training preferred. Position
Responsibilities: Practice proper sanitation techniques. Follows
ServSafe guidelines and any other state and local requirements with
regard to food service preparation. Prepares breakfast and lunch for
students using recipes under the guidance of the Food Service Manager.
Prepares lunch for staff as assigned. Prepares any special food
accommodations for individual students per order of the Nurse.
Responsible for the closing of the kitchen, following kitchen
checklists, and the completion of kitchen equipment logs. Responsible
for the receiving of and stocking of supplies upon delivery. Provides
mentoring/training to students performing vocational work in the kitchen
area. Participates in regular supervision with Supervisor and maintains
a commitment to professional development. Assists in completing monthly
inventory of food and other supplies, as assigned. Participates in
school meetings and training as appropriate. Performs washing, sweeping,
mopping, and general cleaning duties as assigned by the Food Service
Manager. Operates the cafeteria cash register with accuracy for staff
purchases. Ability to stand for an entire shift. **Please note that
