Starbucks digital product owner 6 month FTC in Chiswick, United Kingdom

Job Purpose and Mission

We're looking for a Digital Product Owner to join us on a 6 month fixed term contract. You will directly contribute to the success of Starbucks, by selecting and recommending the technology products and services on an International basis (EMEA, LAC & AP).

The primary product that this role will focus on, are our SDS Websites, re-platforming/PWA, hosting & supporting EMEA priorities such as Project Rubicon. You will manage the selection and delivery of key technology products to ensure the international businesses improve their overall profitability, streamline operations, and provide enhanced customer and partner experiences. You'll collaborate cross functionally and internationally to allign with and contribute to Global Licensing Framework standards for the domain.

Working closely with other technology product managers and product owners in International Cloud Services Team (ICS) and in Global team, as well as key vendors and partners, and licensee technology partners, this role focuses on developing strategic and tactical plans meeting the demands of the business with an optimized technology roadmap for the domain. You will coordinate with multiple technology product owners in accordance with established standards and best practices and plays a key role in acting as a lynch pin between the ICS Team and Global technology on technology strategies and initiatives.

The role will be expected to represent the ICS technology team and in key interactions with market, licensee, regional, and global business and ICS technology Leadership.

What you'll do:

  • Create and maintain strategic multi-year technology product roadmaps, gain strategic agreement from key stakeholders both business and functional

  • Project management of small changes, maintenance projects, or process improvements

  • Vendor management and second level vendor escalation for technology systems and services

  • Maintains and executes a structured approach to problem-solving

  • Recommends technology investments to meet business objectives and goals

  • Ensures the most effective use of tools, processes, and procedures to maintain the production environment

  • Contributes to relevant technology standards in the Global Licensing Framework

  • Recommends corrective actions, new or enhanced tools, processes and procedures in support of continuous improvement in meeting business objectives

  • Works with Global technology teams to ensure EMEA requirements are well understood for both businesses as usual and project work

  • Works with technology operations team to review supplier SLAs and provide feedback on performance improvements

  • Provide product guidance and expertise to the business on technology applications, systems, and services

  • Provide input into EMEA technology budgets for relevant technology software and hardware

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Relevant domain-specific technology experience and has the ability to plan for and review functional technical specifications

  • Solid prioritsation and project management experience and knowledge

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

  • Experience in technology for retail

  • Understanding of budgeting and planning

  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt, challenge and influence where necessary

  • Solid analytical skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and in a matrixed organisation
