Job Summary: This position is responsible for safe and efficient truck operation. Will be responsible for vehicle inspections, cycle counting, and order picking. Essential Functions: Works with the Director of Operations and the Branch Manager to schedule loads, protect inventory, and improve the receiving and dunnage process. Maintains general condition and care of equipment. Document damage, wear, or mechanical issues. Reports and documents all accidents and damage to the appropriate manager. Assist in investigating incidents. Works with the Managers to maximize productivity based on expected shipments, load requirements, and pickup schedule. Ensures product is loaded according to supplier standards. Positions trucks for loading and unloading; secures equipment including all vehicles by removing keys, Required Education and Experience: PreferredClass A- Valid driver's license and clean driving record High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience. Preferred at least one year of previous experience as a delivery driver. Preferred working knowledge of DOT processes. Preferred prior delivery experience, preferably in a food distribution environment. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme temperature conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
