Historically, the travel requirement for this position has ranged from 80-100%. KPMG is currently seeking a Data Operations Manager - Advisory Data Organization to join our Advisory Services (https://advisory.kpmg.us/) practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of US-based and offshore data engineers to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based data integrations, including data pipelines, data quality rules, and metadata management capabilities for landing of quality data into the data marketplace for end user consumption

  • Collaborate with business, technical, and product teams to understand, assess, and translate product requirements in design specs for build of marketplace data products. Collaborates with Advisory technology teams to implement as applicable

  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud native data storage features and capabilities for OLAP and analytics workloads, including data lake and date warehouse profiles

  • Manage and maintain data-related operationalization of cloud native, cloud-based, and desktop-based advanced analytics and machine learning, data visualization, and business intelligence solutions

  • Partner with Technology teams to support deployment and leverage of a structured agile operations framework (such as DevOps) to drive automation of data and analytics platforms and associated solutions

  • Provide triage (L3) and proactive business stakeholder support for data operations functions, including collaborations with third party data and tool vendors related to ingestion and maintenance of quality data

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of relevant experience in data engineering and data operations

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university

  • Deep understanding of data lifecycle management supported and enabled by modern cloud-based technologies; ability to lead a geographically distributed team

  • Strong experience with one or more modern data lake and data warehouse solutions including Snowflake, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Cloudera and Hadoop; prior experience with one or modern data integration solutions such as Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, Talend Cloud and Collibra

  • Proven experience with one or modern data protection solutions including but not limited to Starburst, Denodo, Protegrity and Baffle as well as with one or modern data streaming solutions like Confluent Kafka, Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hub and AWS Kinesi

  • Previous experience with one or more modern CI/CD solutions inclusive of Azure DevOps, Github and Bitbucket along with one or more modern advanced analytics tools for machine learning / AI solutions for example, Spark, DataBricks, Python and R; experience with one or more modern advanced business intelligence & visualization solutions (such as PowerBI, Tableau, amongst others) a plus
